7. Cannabis is a new hope for kids with Dravet Syndrome

Dravet Syndrome is a rare genetic epileptic brain disorder which leads to seizures in young babies and affects the brain development. Poor treatment and prescription drugs in the current health care system often leads the young kids with lower immunity and a risk of catching fever due to infection which often leads to mild or intense seizures. Frequent seizures affects the brain development and the disease itself has been considered to be incurable.

But can this situation be reversed?

Prohibition of cannabis in India has led to an unconstitutional behaviour where thousands of young kids suffering from a horrible disease such as Dravet Syndrome, would often suffer and remain unhealthy because a perfect cure is taken away from the society. The corruption involved in this prohibition is huge.

No Government has the authority to dictate their citizens against medical plants which are natures best answers to many of our health problems. Its high time everyone changes their pre-programmed notions about an ancient medical plant such as gaanja or cannabis.

See the video and decide for yourselves.
12-year-old Cyndimae (11-years-old at the time of this video) suffers from Dravet Syndrome. Here her mother, Susan Meehan, administers activated-THC, present in oils extracted from the Cannabis (Gaanja/Marijuana) plant, as an emergency anti-seizure medication.

When applied orally, between the gums and lower lip, the medication is able to soak directly to her bloodstream through the
mucus membranes in her mouth; which, as you can see, knocks out the seizure in a matter of seconds and with virtually no side effects.

Can patients suffering from Dravet Syndrome finally find hope in a plant extract? How soon can the government of India respond to GLM's request of re-introducing cannabis as a new health care system to help cure hundreds of diseases?

Who is going to win?
The pharmaceutical Corporations or Us - the people who can demand for a full legalisation and help create a better health care system for all of us?
